Privacy policy
Note for the client: this is a starting draft covering the Australian Privacy Principles for a small trade business. Have it reviewed before launch.
What I collect
When you fill in the form on this site I collect your name, suburb, phone number and the description of the problem you give me. If you ring or text, I'll have your phone number. That's all — there's no account to create and I don't ask for anything I don't need to do the job.
Why I collect it
Solely to contact you about the job you've asked about, quote it, and carry it out. I use it to ring you back, find your place, and invoice you.
Who I share it with
Nobody, other than where I have to — for example a supplier delivering a hot water unit to your address, or my accountant handling invoicing. I don't sell contact details and I don't pass them to marketing companies.
How long I keep it
Job and invoice records are kept as long as tax and licensing rules require. Enquiries that don't turn into work get deleted once they're clearly not going anywhere.
Website analytics
This site records anonymous usage information — which pages get visited and whether people tap the call button — so I can tell what's useful. It isn't tied to your name and I can't identify you from it.
Seeing or correcting your details
You can ask me what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Ring 1300 000 000 or email craig@example.com.auand I'll sort it out.
Complaints
If you think I've mishandled your information, tell me first and I'll try to fix it. If you're not satisfied you can take it to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
